Sodium Formate Step 4: Synthesis
The CO gas (along with N₂) is heated to 140–150°C and fed into the synthesis reactor, where it reacts with NaOH to form sodium formate solution.
The mixture (containing Formic acid, Na salt, N₂, and trace CO) is depressurized and separated in a hydrocyclone.
The sodium formate solution is pumped into a storage tank, while residual gases are released into the atmosphere.
